Help with StopRun

Stuck, or found something that isn't right? Write to [email protected] and tell us your phone's model, the level and what happened. A screenshot or a short screen recording helps a lot. We read every message and reply as soon as we can.

Where is my progress saved?

On your phone, in the game's own storage. It saves by itself as you play. There's no account to sign in to.

Can I move my progress to a new phone?

Yes, through your phone's own backup. If backup is on in your phone's settings (it usually is), your progress is backed up to your Google account, and it comes back when you install StopRun again from Google Play or set up a new phone from that backup. The most recent levels may not be in the backup yet.

I can't get past a level

Every trap runs on a pattern. Stop somewhere safe, watch one full cycle, then go. Some traps change the rule: a camera's light catches you only while you move, and a wall coming from behind means you can't wait at all. From Level 5, after a few failed attempts, the game may offer to revive you from a safe point behind where you fell, in return for watching an ad. Nightmare levels have no revives.

How do medals work?

Each level has three: Clear for finishing it, Flawless for finishing it without dying or reviving since you entered it, and Gold for finishing it within its gold time. The medals you have for each level show on the level list.

What are bolts for?

Stop on a bolt to pick it up; medals pay out bolts too. Spend them in the Locker on outfits for the dummy. A few outfits can't be bought: they come from a perfect Crash Lab, five hundred deaths, clearing Level 30 or clearing a Nightmare.

Do outfits change how I play?

Every outfit except Classic and the Nightmare outfits has a small perk, shown in the Locker: a head start on walls that chase you, a shield against one kind of hit, slow motion when a trap is right ahead, earlier warnings, or double bolts. Running speed and stopping never change, so every level plays the same. Perks are off in Nightmares, and if a perk saves you, that clear doesn't earn the Flawless medal.

How do I open the Nightmare levels?

Clear the last level of a world (Level 10, 20, 30 and so on) and that world's Nightmare opens. Nightmares give no help and no revives, and each one you clear unlocks an outfit.

Ads and Remove Ads

StopRun is free and has two kinds of ad. A revive ad plays only when you choose to watch one. Once you've cleared 10 levels, a full-screen ad may appear between levels, at most once every 4 cleared levels and never within 3 minutes of the last one.

Remove Ads is a one-time purchase in Settings that turns off the ads between levels; revive ads stay available if you want them. If you reinstall or change phones, tap Restore purchases in Settings to get it back.

Sound, music, vibration and OVERSIGHT

Settings has switches for sound, music, haptics and reduced screen shake, and a Narrator switch that turns OVERSIGHT's remarks on or off.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Every level plays without a connection. Ads, Remove Ads and restoring a purchase need one.

Your data

See the privacy page. In short: no accounts, your progress stays on your phone, and the ads come from Google AdMob. Where the law asks for it, you can change your ad choices in Settings under Privacy options. To delete everything, clear StopRun's storage in your phone's settings, or uninstall it.
