Privacy
In short: we collect nothing ourselves. Tidemarch has no account, no sign-in and no analytics, and your progress stays on your own device. Google AdMob shows an ad between games now and then (it collects some data to do that; in Europe it asks first, and on iPhone and iPad Apple asks whether it may track you), and Google Play or the App Store handles the Remove ads purchase.
Who we are
Tidemarch is made by LVL Digital Ventures Ltd: company number 17436151, registered in England and Wales, registered office 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom. Contact: [email protected].
What we collect
Nothing. We have no servers of our own, and the game sends no information about you or how you play to us.
Ads, through Google AdMob
Unless you have bought Remove ads, the game now and then shows one full-screen ad between games, never during play. To show and measure ads and to prevent fraud, Google AdMob collects your device's advertising ID and app set ID, your IP address (from which it estimates your general location), information about the app and your device, and how you interact with the ads.
In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland you are asked first, and you can change your choice at any time under Privacy choices in the game's menu. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's settings. Google handles this data under its own privacy policy; see also how Google uses data from apps that use its services.
On iPhone and iPad, before AdMob may use your device's advertising identifier (IDFA), Apple's own prompt asks whether Tidemarch may track your activity. If you choose Ask App Not to Track, it doesn't, and you still see ads, only less related to you. You can change this at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking. AdMob still uses an identifier that only this developer's apps share (IDFV), your IP address, information about the app and your device, and how you interact with the ads, to show and measure ads and to prevent fraud.
Remove ads, through Google Play or the App Store
If you buy Remove ads on Android, Google Play takes the payment, and we never see your payment details. The game only asks Google Play whether your Google account owns Remove ads, so the purchase comes back on any phone signed in to that account.
On iPhone and iPad, Apple takes the payment, and we never see your payment details. The game only asks the App Store on your device whether your Apple Account owns Remove ads, so the purchase comes back on any iPhone or iPad signed in to that account, and Restore purchases asks again.
Rating the game
Now and then the game asks the store to show its own card for rating it: Google Play's, or the App Store's, which Apple shows at most three times a year. Anything you write there goes to the store, and we see it only as it appears on the store page.
What stays on your device
To remember your progress, the game keeps a few things in its own private storage on your device:
- the crowns you have won on each island, and your best scores;
- the daily island's best score and your days in a row;
- which tips you have already seen, and whether sound is on;
- a game in progress, so you can pick it up after switching apps;
- whether you own Remove ads, how many games you have finished, and when the game last showed an ad or the rating card, so they stay rare.
Uninstalling the game deletes all of it. If you have turned on your device's own backup (Google backup on Android, iCloud on iOS), that backup may include the game's save. The backup is stored in your own account, and we cannot see it.
Copy result
On the daily island, "Copy result" puts one line of text on your clipboard, such as your score and your days in a row. Nothing is sent anywhere unless you paste it somewhere yourself.
Permissions
On Android the game uses vibration, for short taps of feedback; internet and network access, for ads and Google Play; and the advertising ID, for ads. Google's ads library also uses a few background-work permissions that Android grants without asking. On iPhone and iPad the game asks only for permission to track, through Apple's prompt described above. The game does not ask for your location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone.
Crash reports from the stores
If you have allowed your device to share usage and diagnostics with Google or Apple, Google Play or the App Store may give us combined reports of crashes and performance for Tidemarch. They do not identify you, and the game itself sends nothing.
Children
Tidemarch is meant for players aged 13 and over and is not directed at children. We collect no personal information from anyone.
Your rights
Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to show you, correct or delete. For what Google AdMob collects, use Privacy choices in the game's menu, your phone's advertising ID settings (on iPhone and iPad, Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking), or Google's own privacy tools. If you have a question about privacy, write to [email protected]. In the UK you can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
If the game changes what it does with data, we will update this page and the date at the top before the new version is released.
